Mr. Engin PORTAKAL was born on 14.08.1984. He started his carrier as an assistant cook at the Isıl Textile San. and Tic. Ltd Sti between 2006 and 2009. He was responsible for the preparation of meals that the company has taken out for its own staff on a daily basis.
Mr. PORTAKAL then worked at Gunes Tourism and Otel Management A.S. between 2009 and 2011 as one of the cooks. He was responsible for preparing menus for the company's hotel customers.
In 2012 he worked at GMP Food Paz. Tic. and San. Ltd. Sti as a cook. He was responsible for the preparation of all meals and maintain all hygiene standards. Between 2014 and 2015 he worked at Park Kale Food Products San. and Tic. Ltd. Sti. as a kitchen manager. He was a cook on Turkish cuisine and he prepared 20 different varieties of traditional Turkish cuisine daily. He had 1 cook, 2 clerks and 2
dishwashers working under his responsibility.
He then worked at THY(Turkish Airlines) Do Co Catering Services as a cook in
2015. He was responsible for preparing meals for 1500 people daily (the staff)..
In 2016 he worked at Kutsal Tourism Construction and Parking Management San. Tic. Ltd Sti. as chef assistant. He was responsible for preparing a la carte servings for 250 people daily. He gained experience as an assistant to the chef and acquired great culinary management skills.
He then worked at the Planium Tourism Restaurant Management San. Tic. Ltd Sti as chef between 2016 and 2018. He was responsible for preparing 100 portions of a la carte meals daily. He managed 1 cook, 2 assistants, and 2 dishwashers. He was also responsible for tracking invoices, order tracking of the kitchen, goods control, reporting deficiencies and managing all kinds of kitchen issues.
He has been working at the Kutsal Tourism Construction and Parking Management San. Tic Ltd. Sti as a chef since 2018. He is responsible for preparing 150 portions of a la carte meals daily. He is managing 2 cook, 3 assistants, and 2 dishwashers. He is also responsible for tracking invoices, order tracking of the kitchen, goods control, reporting deficiencies and managing all kinds of kitchen issues.
Mr. Engin PORTAKAL has a background working as all positions in the kitchen and managing catering operations. He had formal Chef training covering health and safety, food hygiene and fire and emergencies and has operated in the sector since 2006. Mr. PORTAKAL was responsible for making sure all the day to day operations ran smoothly by sourcing ingredients, preparing all meals and maintain all hygiene standards.
